PhD student at Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands (temporarily on a US adventure, interning at Google in Mountain View). Has been trained both as a computer scientist and a performing pianist; PhD project deals with indexing music audio over the time dimension. While being in a largely signal-oriented group, I'd especially like to figure out more about the non-trivial, subjective aspects of music content - those things that we hardly can identify, define and objectify into undisputed ground truth, but that we somehow understand implicitly and that make the music such a great experience to us.
