This is only a very basic draft version of a task proposal. Once more people show interest we can fill in the details.

Note that audio artist similarity algorithms have been evaluated at [http://ismir2004.ismir.net/genre_contest/index.htm#artist ISMIR 2004]. However, there was no artist similarity task in 2005 and 2006.
